More Than Rivals is based on a true story about Eddie Sherlin and Bill Ligon who grew up on opposite sides of the tracks in Gallatin, Tennessee. They knew the barriers that divided them-some physical landmarks and some hidden in the heart-but those barriers melt away when the boys were on the basketball court. After years of playing whenever they could find a hoop. Eddie and Bill rose as leaders of their respective high school teams. And at the end of the 1970 season, all-white Gallatin High and all-black Union High face each other in a once-in-a-lifetime championship game. What happened that night would challenge Eddie and Bill-and transform their town. A story of courage, determination, hope and forgiveness.

The story of “More Than Rivals” is based on the original screenplay entitled, ”“UNION” which became a NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLER by, Ken Abraham, who was commissioned to write the book for The Christian publisher, Revell. (http://www.morethanrivalsthebook.com)

The book has also received the Dove Foundation Seal of Approval for 18+ aged readers. The audiobook won the Excellence Award from the Communicator Awards (among 6,000 entries globally) in 2017.
